1 Scope
This part of GB/T 29493 specifies the GC/MS method for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries.
This part is applicable to the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in all kinds of textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons; PAHs
an aromatic hydrocarbon containing two or more condensed aromqatic nuclei. The condensed aromqatic nuclei may also have a short alkyl or cycloalkyl substituent
Note: the 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons determined in this part were promulgated and regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 1979.
4 Theory
The PAHs in the sample shall be ultrasonically extracted with toluene, separated and detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry detector (GC/MSD), and quantified by internal standard method.
