This document is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.
This standard replaces GB/T 32614-2016 Outdoor sportswear - Water resistant garments. In addition to structural adjustment and editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 32614-2016:
——The “normative references” is modified (see Clause 2 hereof; Clause 2 of Edition 2016);
——The designation principle of sizing beyond the range is added (see Clause 4 hereof);
——The content of requirements is deleted (see 5.1 of Edition 2016);
——The requirements and test methods for perfluorooctane sulfonates (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) are added in Table 1 (see Table 1 and 6.1.6 hereof);
——The requirements for wear resistance, color fastness to light in color fastness of fabric, water-vapour transmission rate and appearance after washing in fabric functional requirements in Table 1 are modified (see Table 1 hereof; Table 1 of Edition 2016);
——The items and test methods specified in the safety specifications for drawstrings on children's upper wear and in the safety specifications for cords and drawstrings on children’s clothing are deleted (see Table 1, 6.2.20 and 6.2.21 of Edition 2016);
——The requirements for notes in the inherent quality requirements are modified (see 5.2 hereof; 5.3.2~5.3.9 of Edition 2016);
——The relevant requirements for children's clothing and accessories such as buttons and zippers are added in the inherent quality requirements (see 5.2.2 and 5.2.4 hereof);

1 Scope
This document specifies the product sizing, requirements, test methods, sampling rules, judgment rules, product instruction, packaging, transport and storage concerning water resistant garments belonging to outdoor sportswear.
This document is applicable to identify the quality of water resistant garments produced mainly with textile fabrics.
This document is not applicable to water resistant garments for infants and young children aged 36 months or below.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
water resistant garments
clothing made of water resistant and breathable textile fabrics, which is applied to outdoor sports and provided with water resistant and breathable functions
3.2
fluorescence color
color showing fluorescence after exposure to UV light
4 Product sizing
The sizing of water resistant garments for adults shall be selected according to those specified in GB/T 1335.1 and GB/T 1335.2, and that of water resistant garments for children shall be selected according to those specified in GB/T 1335.3. The sizing beyond the range may be increased or decreased in sequence according to the grading values and principles specified in the aforesaid standards.
