Performance test methods for endurance braking systems of commercial vehicles
1 Scope
This standard specifies the performance test methods for endurance braking systems of commercial vehicles.
It is applicable to the commercial vehicles fitted with endurance braking systems.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
GB/T 5620 Road vehicles - Braking of automotive vehicles and their trailers - Vocabulary
GB 12676-2014 Technical requirements and testing methods for commercial vehicle and trailer braking systems
3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5620, GB 12676-2014 and the following apply.
3.1
endurance braking system
auxiliary braking system which can provide and hold the braking efficiency for a long time without obvious performance degradation
Note 1: The endurance braking system refers to the overall system including the control device. This definition does not cover the electric regenerative braking system.
Note 2: An endurance braking system can be composed of a single device or a combination of several devices. Each device may be fitted with its own control device.
Note 3: An endurance braking system may contain one or more retarder(s), and may include:
——energy supplying device(s);
——control device(s);
——transmission device(s);
——energy dissipation device(s);
