1 Scope
This document specifies the classification and labeling, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, accompanying documents and the content of an order form regarding copper and copper alloy strip and foil for terminal connectors.
This document is applicable to copper and copper alloy strip and foil for terminal connectors (hereinafter referred to as "strip and foil" or “strips and foils”).

4 Classification and labeling
4.1 Product classification
The designations, codes, tempers and specifications of the strips and foils shall be as specified in Table 1.

4.2 Labeling examples
A product shall be labeled in the order of product name, number of this document, designation (or code), temper, dimensional precision and specifications. Labeling examples are given below:
Example 1:
A strip made of T2 (T11050), with a temper of H02, a dimensional precision of ordinary grade, a thickness of 0.25mm, and a width of 50mm, is labeled as:
Strip GB/T 34497-T2H02-0, 25×50
Or Strip GB/T 34497-T11050H02-0, 25×50
Example 2:
A high-precision foil made of T2 (T11050), with a temper of H02, a dimensional precision of high-precision grade, a thickness of 0.10mm, and a width of 50mm, is labeled as:
Foil GB/T 34497-T2H02 H-0, 10×50
Or Foil GB/T 34497-T11050H02 H-0, 10×50
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of the strip and foil shall meet the requirements of GB/T 5231.
