1 Scope
This standard specifies the compilation structure, elements drafting and index value definition method of standards for poultry breeds.
This standard is applicable to the formulation of standards for poultry breeds and synthetic lines.

3 Compilation structure
The compilation structure includes: cover, contents, foreword, standard name, scope, normative references, origin and characteristics of poultry breed, body appearance, weight and body measurement, production performance (growth, slaughter, reproduction, egg laying and egg quality), measurement methods, and photos.
4 Elements drafting
4.1 Cover
Cover is an essential for a standard. If the standard is a national standard, it shall have a cover with the format applicable for a national standard; if it is a professional standard, it shall have a cover with the format applicable for a professional standard; if it is a local standard, it shall have a cover with the format applicable for a local standard. The ICS number in the upper left corner of the cover is 65.020.30, and the CCS number is B 43.
4.2 Contents
Contents is an optional element. This element is omitted if the text of the standard has not more 20 pages. The presentation format shall comply with the requirements given in GB/T 1.1.
4.3 Foreword
Foreword is an essential for a standard. The foreword shall not contain requirements or recommendations, nor shall it have formulas, diagrams, or tables. The following content shall be included sequentially as appropriate:
