本标准规定了以二氧化碳（CO2）为制冷剂的热泵热水器（以下简称热泵热水器）的术语和定义、产品分类、技术要求及试验方法。
本标准适用于电动机驱动，使用二氧化碳（CO2）作制冷剂，采用跨临界压缩循环，以空气作为热源，额定制热量不超过16 000 W，以提供热水为目的的家用和类似用途的热泵热水器。
本标准不适用于工业用热泵热水器。
