GB/T 40362-2021 Powered toothbrushes—General requirements and test methods
1 Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage for powered toothbrushes.
This standard is applicable to powered toothbrushes driven by batteries.
This document is not applicable to oral hygiene devices such as powered interdental brushes.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 39669-2020 and the following apply.
3.1
powered toothbrush
electrically powered appliance, the brush head of which carries filaments, used for cleaning surfaces of tooth
3.2
powered toothbrush head
fixed or detachable end of an powered toothbrushes with bristles
4 Classification
4.1 Powered toothbrushes are classified into adult electric toothbrushes and children's electric toothbrushes by target users.
4.2 Powered toothbrush heads, according to assembly method, are classified into detachable and non-detachable heads.
5 Requirements
5.1 Surface quality
5.1.1 The bristles shall be neat, straight, and evenly filled in the tufts.
5.1.2 The brush head shall be clean, smooth in shape, and free from defects such as impurities, cracks and bubbles larger than 1 mm² (except process bubbles).
5.1.3 The brush handle shall have a clean external surface, free from defects such as flash, peeling paint and burrs.
5.1.4 The bristles, brush head, brush handle and decorative parts shall not fade.
5.2 Dimensions
The dimensions shall comply with the requirements of Table 1. See Figure 1 for an example of the measurement positions.
