本标准规定了高压套管的适用范围、产品分类、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则及标志。本标准适用于第4章所规定的额定电压高于1000V，频率为15Hz～60Hz三相交流输变电系统中高压电器设备、发电机、变压器、电抗器、断路器和其他电气装置上使用且单独供应的高压套管。本标准不适用于金属封闭开关设备内作绝缘支柱用的类似于套管的绝缘结构；也不适用于35kV以及下纯瓷套管和其他特殊场合使用的套管。
