本标准适用于金属艾氏冲击试验。艾氏冲击试验是在室温下（10～35℃），以悬臂梁式冲击，测定试样缺口处折断时所吸收的能量。试样的折断是由摆锤一次冲击完成的。冲击时，试样垂直夹紧，缺口底部和定位块顶面处于同一平面内。摆锤在缺口上方一定高度上，冲击缺口正面。
