本标准规定了测定玻璃仪器的抗热震性和热震耐久性的试验方法。
本标准不适用于实验室玻璃仪器的测定。本标准等同采用ISO 7459:2004《玻璃容器　抗热震性和热震耐久性试验方法》。
本标准代替GB 4547-1991《玻璃容器　抗热震性和热震耐久性试验方法》。
本标准与GB 4547-1991相比，技术内容的主要变化如下：
———本标准不适用于实验室玻璃器皿的测定；
———试验样品由热水槽转入冷水槽的时间由15s±1s改为不多于16s;
———增加了第8章安全要求。
