3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 411 are applicable to this document.
4 Classification
Printed and dyed cotton-polyester blended fabrics are classified by type and specification. Type and specification shall be determined by the supply and demand contract between the buyer and seller. The processing coefficients for printed and dyed cotton-polyester blended fabrics are given in Annex A.
5 Requirements
5.1 Grading rules
5.1.1 The quality grades of the product are classified as superior grade, first grade, and second grade. Products below second grade are classified as off-grade.
5.1.2 Product quality includes intrinsic quality and appearance quality. Intrinsic quality is graded per batch, and appearance quality is graded per piece (segment). The final grade is determined by the lowest grade between intrinsic quality and appearance quality.
5.2 Intrinsic quality
5.2.1 Products shall conform to the provisions of GB 18401 or GB 31701.
5.2.2 The grading rules for intrinsic quality shall comply with Table 1.
5.3 Appearance quality
5.3.1 Appearance quality requirements
The grading rules for appearance quality shall comply with Table 2.
5.3.2 Total allowable score for local defects per piece (segment)
The total allowable score for local defects per piece of fabric shall be calculated according to Formula (1), rounded to the nearest whole number according to GB/T 8170.
5.3.3 Requirements for false cutting and piecing
5.3.3.1 False cutting is not allowed in superior grade products.
5.3.3.2 Defects subject to false cutting shall be those scored as 4 points or severe defects scored as 3 points. After false cutting, each segment shall meet the requirements for first grade.
5.3.3.3 False cutting and piecing may be implemented if permitted by the user. False cutting is not allowed within 5 meters from the fabric end or for pieces shorter than 30 meters. The minimum piece length after piecing shall not be less than 10 meters. For every 60 meters, no more than 2 false cuts are allowed; for every additional 30 meters in length, one additional false cut is permitted.
5.3.3.4 The combined rate of false cutting and piecing shall not exceed 20%, wherein the piecing rate shall not exceed 10%.
5.3.3.5 The location of false cuts shall be marked, accompanied by a false cut segment length record sheet.
6 Test and inspection methods
6.1 The density inspection method shall be carried out according to GB/T 4668. The weft density deviation rate shall be calculated according to Formula (2), rounded to one decimal place according to GB/T 8170.
6.2 The mass per unit area test method shall be performed in accordance with Method 6 of GB/T 4669-2008. The mass per unit area deviation rate shall be calculated according to Formula (3) and rounded to one decimal place according to GB/T 8170.
6.3 The fiber content test method shall be performed in accordance with GB/T 2910.11.
6.4 The breaking strength test method shall be performed in accordance with GB/T 3923.1.
6.5 The tearing strength test method shall be performed in accordance with GB/T 3917.1.
6.6 The dimensional change to washing test method shall be performed in accordance with GB/T 8628, GB/T 8629-2017 (using a Type A washing machine, washing procedure 4N, drying procedure F), and GB/T 8630.
6.7 The pilling resistance test method shall be performed in accordance with the 2000-revolution test conditions specified in GB/T 4802.2-2008. The abradant shall be the fabric itself, with a load mass of 415 g ± 2 g.
6.8 The color fastness to light test method shall be performed in accordance with Method 3 of GB/T 8427-2019.
