3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5611 apply.
4 Order information
4.1 The purchaser should specify the material designation, supply quantity, casting name, delivery status, technical requirements and testing items of austenitic manganese steel castings (hereinafter referred to as "castings") in the order contract.
4.2 The purchaser should provide the order drawings and technical conditions.
4.3 When the purchaser has special requirements or other supplementary requirements, both the supplier and the purchaser shall agree upon each other.
5 Manufacturing technology
5.1 Casting
5.1.1 Unless otherwise required by the purchaser, the smelting method of alloy materials shall be determined by the supplier itself.
5.1.2 Unless otherwise required by the purchaser, the casting forming process and method shall be determined by the supplier itself.
5.2 Heat treatment
5.2.1 Castings shall be subjected to water toughening treatment (water-quenched solution treatment). Castings shall be evenly heated and kept warm during water toughening treatment, and shall be treated quickly with water. The water temperature after the casting is immersed shall not exceed 50°C.
5.2.2 When the thickness of the casting is less than 45 mm and the carbon content is less than 0.8%, ZG90Mn14Mo may be supplied directly without heat treatment. All other designations of castings shall be subjected to water toughening treatment (water-quenched solution heat treatment), and the water temperature during water toughening treatment shall not be lower than 1,040°C.
6 Technical requirements
6.1 General requirements
6.1.1 The testing items of castings shall include: chemical composition, hardness, surface quality, dimensional tolerance, geometric tolerance and weight tolerance.
6.1.2 Upon agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, the metallographic structure, the tensile property and impact property, and the bending property of castings, samples, and specimens, as well as the quality of castings by non-destructive testing may be tested at room temperature. At least one of these items shall be selected as an item for product testing.
6.2 Material designation and chemical composition
6.2.1 The method of representing material designation of austenitic manganese steel and austenitic manganese steel castings shall meet the requirements of GB/T 5613. According to the content of alloying elements such as carbon, manganese, chromium and molybdenum, the designation of austenitic manganese steel and austenitic manganese steel casting materials is classified into 11 grades, as shown in Table 1.
6.2.2 The main chemical composition of each designation shall meet those specified in Table 1.
Table 1 Material designation and main chemical compositions of austenitic manganese steel castings
6.2.3 The allowable tolerances for the chemical composition of steels shall meet the requirements of GB/T 222.
6.3 Brinell hardness
