This standard specifies the casting method, surface characteristic, specimen classification, roughness parameter and evaluation methods for casting surface roughness comparison specimen of metal and alloy.
This standard is applicable to cast surface roughness comparison specimen, and this kind of specimen is used for comparison with the cast metal and alloy which has the same surface characteristic with the specimen or comparison with the casting surface, which is casted by the same method with specimen and through proper cleaning (e.g. cloudbursting, sand blasting and barrel finishing etc.). It is also regarded as the reference frame of other specific casting process and cast surface roughness.
