3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this part of GB/T 7702, the following term and definition applies.
3.1
laboratory sample
sample as prepared for sending to the laboratory and intended for inspection or testing
3.2
test sample
sample extracted from the test portion in the prepared laboratory sample
3.3
test portion
a certain amount of material obtained from the test sample (if the test sample is the same as the laboratory sample, then it is obtained from the laboratory sample), and used for testing or observation
3.4
methylene blue adsorption
under the specified test conditions, after the activated carbon and the methylene blue solution have fully adsorbed, when the remaining concentration of the methylene blue solution reaches the specified range, the milligram amount of methylene blue adsorbed per gram of activated carbon
4 Principle
The sample was mixed with the methylene blue solution, and after sufficient adsorption, the remaining concentration of the methylene blue solution was measured, and the methylene blue adsorption can be calculated.
5 Reagents and materials
5.1 Water, Grade 3 water as defined in GB/T 6682.
5.2 Qualitative filter paper (see GB/T 1914), Grade B, medium speed (102).
5.3 Sulfuric acid solution, prepare a 1+5 sulfuric acid solution with sulfuric acid (GB/T 625, analytical purity).
5.4 Iodized potassium solution, prepare a 10% iodized potassium solution with iodized potassium (GB/T 1272, analytical purity).
5.5 Copper sulfate standard color solution, prepare a 0.4% copper sulfate standard color solution with an anhydrous copper sulfate (II) (GB/T 665, analytical purity).
5.6 Buffer solution: Mix the solution a and solution b in a 1:1 volume ratio to obtain a buffer solution with a pH value of approximately 7.
