1 General
1.0.1 This Specification is formulated with a view to implementing the national technical and economic policies in the design of equipment foundations in chemical industry to be of advanced technology, economic rationality, safety and usability, and quality assurance.
1.0.2 This Standard is applicable to the design of various common equipment foundations in chemical industry, petrochemical industry and related devices, excluding the equipment foundation on the story. Design of foundations of such equipment as steel tank, tower-type equipment and piston and centrifugal compressor is detailed in the special requirements.
1.0.3 During the design for various equipment foundations in this Standard, reasonable subgrade schemes and foundation types shall be selected according to the characteristics of equipment and subgrade, so as to ensure the bearing capacity, deformation and stability of subgrade and foundation meet the requirements of the specifications and satisfy the requirements of construction, production and overhaul.
1.0.4 Design of various equipment foundations shall not only meet the requirements of this Standard but also comply with those stipulated in the current relevant ones of the nation. Subgrade treatment and foundation design of collapsible loess, permafrost, expansive soil, underground mined area, corrosive subsoil and liquefaction soil layer shall also meet the requirements of the current relevant standards of the nation.
