其测定原理：将白色贴衬与未经洗水处理的靛蓝染色牛仔面料一起进行洗水处理，对比使用牛仔防染剂与未用牛仔防染剂洗水后白色贴衬的沾色情况。评定使用牛仔防染剂处理的白色贴衬沾色等级，与空白样对比，经牛仔防染剂处理后沾色等级提升越多，表明牛仔防染剂防染效果越好；反之，表明防染效果越差。
