本标准规定了轧机用大型直流电机的结构型式、性能要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志和包装。
本标准适用于传动轧辊用的每个电枢大于4 kW/（r/min）的直流电动机，电动机可以用静止整流电源，也可以用直流发电机组供电。本标准也适用于为其供电的1 500 kW以上的直流发电机。小于4 kW/（r/min）的类似工况的直流电动机及其电源发电机可参照执行本技术条件。
