JB/T 7248-2024 Technical specification for low temperature service steel casting for valves
1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements for low temperature service steel casting for valves, describes the corresponding test methods, specifies acceptance criteria, markings, quality certificates, packaging, and storage and transportation.
This document is applicable to the manufacturing of valve steel castings with temperatures ranging from -29°C to -196°C, and it can be used for reference for the manufacturing of valve steel castings with temperatures ranging from -196°C to -254°C.

4 Technical requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 The casting process method shall be agreed upon by both the supplier and the purchaser. The low-temperature steel castings (hereinafter referred to as "castings") used for the first production of valves, as well as their process and technical documents, shall be approved by the purchaser.
4.1.2 The purchaser may choose one or more requirements of the supplementary testing, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria for castings in Annex A as needed, and provide information in accordance with Annex B as part of the contract. The supplier shall implement and provide reports.
4.2 Minimum impact test temperature
The minimum impact test temperature for castings is shown in Table 1.
