1.0.2 This code is applicable to testing and evaluation for properties and construction quality of building foundation soils.
1.0.3 Selection of the testing method for building foundation soils shall be comprehensively determined in accordance with local condition on the basis of the characteristics and application scope of various testing methods and with consideration of factors such as geological conditions, reliability of construction quality and service requirements.
1.0.4 Besides the provisions of this code, the testing for building foundation soils shall also comply with those in the current relevant ones of the nation.
2 Terms and Symbols
2.1 Terms
2.1.1 artificial foundation
foundation which is artificially treated in order to increase its bearing capacity and improve its deformability or permeability
2.1.2 foundation soil test
activity of experimenting, testing and inspecting properties, design parameters, and foundation treatment effect of building foundation soils with certain technical methods on site, in order to evaluate the foundation soil properties
2.1.3 plate loading test
in-situ test carried out on site to simulate building foundation working conditions, which can be carried out in test pit, deep well or tunnel and observes the sinkage of rock and soil mass under load of each grade by applying load on rock and soil mass through the bearing plate of certain size, so as to research the deformation behaviour of rock and soil mass under the action of load and determine the bearing capacity, deformation modulus and other engineering characteristics of rock and soil mass
2.1.4 loading test on single column composite foundation
plate loading test carried out on composite foundation composed of single vertical reinforcement and foundation soil
2.1.5 loading test on multi-column composite foundation
plate loading test carried out on composite foundation composed of two or more vertical reinforcements and foundation soil
2.1.6 loading test on vertical reinforcement
testing for the bearing capacity of vertical reinforcement according to the variation in settlement of reinforcement as a function of load and time which is determined by applying vertical load grade by grade on the top of vertical reinforcement
2.1.7 standard penetration test (SPT)
in-situ test method to pre-drive the penetrometer of standard specification by 15cm from the bottom of self-drilled hole with a 63.5kg penetrated hammer from a free falling height of 76cm, and measure and record the blow count required for driving the penetrometer by another 30cm
2.1.8 dynamic penetration test (DPT)
in-situ test method to judge the soil property according to the blow count required for driving a conical probe of certain specification into soil by a certain depth with a driving hammer of certain weight from a certain free falling height
