1 Scope
This standard specifies the configuration requirements of barrier-free equipment in the parking lot (parking building), outdoor access, terminal building, station site and other areas in the passenger terminal area of civil airports.
This standard is applicable to the configuration of barrier-free equipment in the passenger terminal area of civil airport (including civil part of civil-military airport).

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
passenger terminal area
area where is centered on the passenger terminal in the airport , including the apron, passenger terminal building and curbside platform, parking facilities and ground traffic organizations
3.2
apron
specific site in the airfield area for passengers boarding and alighting, loading and unloading cargo or mail, refueling, parking or maintenance
3.3
outdoor road
road, sidewalk, ramp, bridge and platform for passengers to enter and exit the terminal
3.4
ramp for wheelchair
ramp that meets the traffic requirements of wheelchair users in terms of gradient, width, ramp surface, banister and height
3.5
barrier-free entrance
building entrance without steps and ramps
3.6
curbside platform
area in front of the passenger terminal building where passengers and luggage may get on and off
3.7
disabled access sign
graphical sign used to guide the disabled in their direction of travel, access to buildings and available service facilities
Note: The disabled access sign is marked as a universally recognized sign of wheelchair for the disabled, formulated by the International Rehabilitation Association Rehabilitation International.

sidewalk for the blind
road that ground paving materials with fixed shape are paved on sidewalks or related parts indoor, so that visually impaired people have different foot feelings to walk forward and identify directions to reach the destination.
3.9
go-ahead blind sidewalk
blind sidewalk with strip-shaped surface, so that the visually impaired go ahead through the sense of footstep and the touch of the blind stick
3.10
warning blind sidewalk
blind sidewalk with dot-shaped surface, set at the corners and ends of blind sidewalk, which is used for indicating the facilities location, reminding attention and warning dangers
Note: Warning blind sidewalk are usually set at sidewalks, building entrances, ramps and stairways, elevator entrances, in front of information counters, outdoor telephone booths, etc.

barrier-free lift
elevator that its entrance, area, banister, Braille button, floor audio, mirror, emergency bell button, telephone and other accessories are suitable for wheelchair users and visually impaired people to enter and use
3.12
barrier-free toilet cubicle
compartment toilet seat with toilet pan and handrail, set in public toilet for wheelchair users to enter and use
3.13
barrier-free lavatory
separate toilet shared by men and women with complete barrier-free facilities for the disabled, the elderly, and the pregnant and children, which may be accompanied by accompanying persons.

handrail
facility that helps the disabled or people with mobility difficulties to move and stand up safely at barrier-free toilet cubicle, toilets, hand basins and low-level urinal
3.15
low-level urinal
urinal convenient for the disabled
