1 Method to Paste Filter Paper
1.1 Principle
At room temperature, paste the filter paper dipped with some test solution on the surface of tested parts, if the deposits are subjected to pore or crack, then the test solution will react with the matrix metal or bottom metal deposits by penetrating through the pore or the crack and the compound which has a visible chromatism with deposits. The thus-generated compound penetrates on the filter paper and thus colored spots are caused on the filter paper; then determine the porosity according to the number of colored spots.

The test solutions of different matrix metals and its deposits are listed in Table 1.
