1.1 This specification covers the basic provisions on the design of steel storage tanks subgrade and foundation in petrochemical industry, and such provisions on calculation of foundation ring wall of tanks, calculation of bearing pressure and stability of foundation, subbase deformation calculation of foundation, as well as the foundation construction and materials.
1.2 This specification is applicable to the design of the subgrade and foundation of vertical cylindrical welded steel storage tanks in petrochemical industry for store crude oil, intermediate product oil and product oil. It is inapplicable to the design of subgrade and foundation of such storage tanks containing low-temperature, low-pressure, virulent, acid, or alkali corrosive medium and the media with deadweight larger than 10kN/m3, as well as the elevated storage tanks.
1.3 This specification shall be implemented in accordance with those specified in the compulsory provisions of the current relevant standards and codes.
