本标准规定了农用地分等工作的目的、任务、对象、原则、内容、程序、方法、成果要求、成果的检查验收、成果更新和应用，以及档案管理等。
本标准适用于县级行政区内现有农用地和宜农未利用地，不适用于自然保护区和土地利用总体规划中划定的林地、牧草地及其他农用地。
