本标准规定了空气净化器除菌性能分级的术语和定义、一般要求、除菌效果要求、除菌性能分级和试验方法。
本标准适用于使空气经过净化部件实现空气循环净化，额定电压不超过250 V，具有一定微生物去除能力，可以具有其他污染物净化能力的家用和类似用途空气净化器。
本标准不适用于为工业、车辆、治理等专业用途设计及腐蚀性、爆炸性等特殊环境使用的空气净化器。
