YS/T 951-2014 Method of the ultrasonic testing for rails 1 Scope This standard specifies the terms and definitions, testing principles, testing methods, personnel requirements, testing requirements, test pieces and sample rails, probes, instruments and equipment, signal‑to‑noise ratio, stability, operation, result determination and marking, etc. for ultrasonic testing of rails. This standard is applicable to ultrasonic testing of symmetric cross-section rails and asymmetric cross-section rails for railway with a mass of 37kg/m to 75kg/m. It may serve as a reference for the ultrasonic testing of other rails. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
