本标准规定了不对称数字用户线（ADSL）设备的接口、分离器、功能、性能、操作管理维护要求、环境、电源、过压、过流等的测试方法。本标准适用于公用电信网环境下的收发器符合ITU-T G.992.1的汇聚子层采用ATM方式的ADSL设备，专用电信网也可参照使用。本标准不适用于采用STM和PTM方式的ADSL设备。
