3 Definitions and Abbreviations
3.1 Definitions
Customer Premises Equipment (CPE): terminal equipment with caller identity reception and display function, and/or message edit and delivery function.
User: the object using CPE to control or obtain caller identity.
Originating switch: the LS at calling terminal.
Terminal switch: the LS at called terminal.
Ring burst: the ringing current signal before the first ring, which is sent by the terminal switch. The level and frequency of ring burst are the same as those of the common ringing signals, while its duration and interval are indefinite.
