本标准规定了人造金红石的要求、试验方法、检验规则及标志、包装、运输、贮存、质量证明书和合同（或订货单）内容。
本标准适用于以钛铁矿做原料，采用预氧化，弱还原酸浸或强还原锈蚀等方法生产的人造金红石产品，以及生产精四氯化钛和供做电焊条涂料用的人造金红石产品。其他方法生产的人造金红石可参照执行。
