本标准规定了氟化镁的要求、试验方法、检验规则、包装、标志、运输、贮存及合同（或订货单）内容。
本标准适用于电解铝生产用添加剂、金属镁生产用助熔剂的氟化镁。作光学透镜镀膜、钛颜料涂饰剂、阴极射线屏荧光材料、高级陶瓷、玻璃及氟化工原料等高技术领域用氟化镁也可参照执行本标准。
