3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in YY/T 0752 as well as the followings apply. For the convenience of application, some terms and definitions in YY/T 0752 are listed repeatedly as follows.
3.1
drill
cutting tools that are powered by electric osseous tissue surgical equipment to perform mechanical rotary motion for drilling and reaming osseous tissue, typically composing of the body, the shaft and the coupling
3.2
handpiece
component held by an operator and capable of driving the clamped surgical cutting tool to achieve surgical purposes, which may be integrated or split type; a split-type handpiece is composed of a (power) handle that can provide power to the handpiece head, a handpiece head that clamps the cutting tool, and/or a speed and direction change mechanism
3.3
body
part of the drill from the end of the flute to the chisel edge, which is composed of the point, the land and the flute, and like a fried dough twist
3.4
point
part of the drill with cutting function
3.5
land
guiding surface of the diameter formed along the helical direction on the body surface
3.6
flute
groove cut on the body, enable the cuttings to be expelled from the cutting zone
3.7
cutting part
structural part for drilling, cutting and removing osseous tissue (main cutting edge) and the structural part for guiding during the removal process (auxiliary cutting edge)
3.8
shaft
structural part that connects to the body and coupling to transfer mechanical power
3.9
coupling
structural part that connects to the handpiece of the electric osseous tissue surgical equipment to obtain mechanical power
3.10
rotation speed
applicable rotation speed or speed range specified by the manufacturer for the operation of the product
