1 Subject Content and Application Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements of austenitic stainless steel pressure forgings (hereinafter referred to as "forgings") of standard valves used in PWR nuclear power plant.
This standard is applicable to forgings (valve body, valve deck, valve clack, etc.) of Grades 1, 2, 3 standard valves used in PWR nuclear power plant. It also applies as a reference for forgings of NCh valves.
This standard is not applicable to valve rods and fasteners.

Forging steel shall be smelted in electric arc furnace or by external refining in addition, and may also be smelted by other corresponding smelting process.
