GB 28008-2024 Technical specification for the safety of furniture structure
1 Scope
This document specifies general safety requirements for furniture structure and safety requirements for products with specific structures.
This document is applicable to furniture other than infants' and children's furniture.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 28202-2020 and the following apply.
3.1
shear and squeeze point
gap that may cause injury to a body part when two parts within the access zone move relatively (closed, opened, or folded)
3.2
bunk bed
high bed
household and non-household bed products with one or more bed bases in the height direction, and with a height above the ground of not less than 600 mm, a width of not more than 1,200 mm, and a length of not less than 1,400 mm
Note: It does not include special bed products such as those used for prisons, fire-fighting and military.

4 Technical requirements
4.1 General structural safety
4.1.1 Basic structural safety
4.1.1.1 During normal use, accessible edges and corners shall be rounded, chamfered, sanded or protected in other suitable ways. The radius of rounding shall not be less than 0.5 mm.
Note 1: The edge of the seat surface and zones within 120 mm inward from any other edge (back, armrest and lower surface of the seat) are generally considered to be easily accessible by fingers.
Note 2: Any part of the table top, the bottom of the table top and any edge below the table top where the distance is less than 500 mm is generally be touched by the knees and/or arms.
4.1.1.2 The bonding of fixed parts and components shall be firm and free from looseness, and there shall be no missing parts, through nails or missing nails.
4.1.1.3 During normal use, there shall be no sharp edges or angles on the surfaces of other components.
4.1.1.4 At any position 50 mm above the closure point, vertically moving components shall not move by themselves.
4.1.1.5 The push-pull member shall have an anti-falling device or warning sign, and the font of the sign content shall not be less than size 5, in bold print.
Example: The push-pull member includes a drawer, a keyboard, a pull basket, etc.
4.1.1.6 Except for chair products, other products equipped with casters shall have at least 2 casters that can be locked or at least 2 non-caster support feet in normal use.
4.1.1.7 When the stability test is carried out according to the product standard, no tipping shall occur.

4 Technical requirements
