External fixed faucets of bathtub
This standard is applicable to the external fixed faucet of bathtub installed on vertical wallboard, which is used as the water switch of the bathtub.
1 Structural type and dimension and performance parameters
1.1 Structural type
There is no general requirement for the structural type.
1.2 Structural dimension
1.2.1 The structural dimensions of the ordinary faucet of bathtub shall comply with those specified in Figure 1 and Table 1.

1.3 Performance parameters
1.3.1 Nominal pressure: 5.9×105Pa (6kgf/cm2).
1.3.2 Applicable temperature: not higher than 100℃.
1.4 Materials
1.4.1 The casting copper parts shall be made of materials meeting the requirements of GB 1176-74 Cast copper alloys and may also be made of other copper materials provided that the technical requirements are ensured.
1.4.2 Other metallic and non-metallic materials, if adopted, must meet corresponding standards.
2 Technical requirements
2.1 The castings shall be free of defects such as shrinkage cavity, crack and air hole, and the core sand attached to the inner cavity shall be removed.
2.2 The valve seat sealing surface shall be free from defects such as sand holes, and the surface roughness Ra shall not be greater than 3.2μm.
2.3 The hand wheel and distribution valve handle shall be able to operate smoothly and flexibly without jamming.
2.4 The handle wheel shall be tightly and firmly connected to the valve stem.
2.5 The cold and hot water markings shall be clear and connected firmly. Color markings: blue for cold water and red for hot water; characteristic markings: "C" for cold water and "H" for hot water. After the product is assembled, the hot water hand wheel shall be on the left.
2.6 Nickel and chromium plating on the visible surface of the product: the thickness of nickel plating shall not be less than 5μm, and that of chromium plating shall not be less than 0.1μm.
2.7 The electroplated surface shall be free of missed plating (including nickel exposed layer). The plating surface shall be bright and in silvery white with slight blue, in uniform color and luster, and have fine-grained and tight texture; the plating shall be well combined, without peeling or burning. The surface roughness Ra shall not be greater than 0.2μm.
2.8 The visible surface of the product shall be free of obvious defects such as scratches and sand holes.
2.9 The product shall be subjected to water pressure test for strength, and shall be free of deformation or leakage within the specified time.
2.10 The product shall be subjected to sealing performance test, and shall be free of leakage within the specified time.
2.11 The flow characteristic of the product shall meet the following requirements:
Under the water pressure of 2.0×104Pa (0.2kgf/cm2), the flow of the fully opened ordinary faucet of the bathtub is not less than 0.2L/s.
Under the water pressure of 1.5×104Pa (0.15kgf/cm2), the flow of mixed faucet of the bathtub is not less than 0.2L/s when single valve is fully opened and not less than 0.3L/s when double valves are fully opened.
Under the water pressure of 2.5×104Pa (0.25kgf/cm2), the flow of the shower head is not less than 0.1L/s when single valve is fully opened and not less than 0.15L/s when double valves are fully opened.
3 Test method
3.1 For visual inspection, the distance is 500mm and the illuminance is 100~200lx. Any amplification instrument shall not be used.
3.2 The surface roughness of valve seat sealing surface shall be inspected by comparison with "surface roughness standard block".
3.3 Visual inspection is conducted for 2.1, 2.2, 2.5 and 2.8, and hand feeling inspection is conducted for 2.3 and 2.4.
3.4 The plating thickness shall be inspected according to JB 2115-77 Test method for metal cladding - Timing fluid flow method and JB 2116-77 Test method for metal cladding - Thin chromium plating drop method.
3.5 Inspection method for plating quality:
3.5.1 The appearance is inspected visually.
3.5.2 The surface roughness shall be inspected by comparison with "surface roughness standard block".
3.5.3 The bonding strength of the plating shall be inspected according to JB 2111-77 Test method for bond strength of metal cover layer, and the corrosion resistance shall be inspected according to JB 2109-77 Acetic acid salt spray test method.
3.6 Hydraulic test
Take the clean water at normal temperature as the medium, and introduce the pressure from the threaded end of the pipe for at least 60s with the pressure unchanged. During the test, the valve shall be closed by hand, without using other auxiliary tools.
3.6.1 The strength test shall be conducted at water pressure of 8.8×105Pa (9kgf/cm2). Inspect whether there is deformation or leakage at the compressed part. The test may be conducted on a single part.
3.6.2 The sealing performance test shall be conducted at a water pressure of 5.9×105Pa (6kgf/cm2). Inspect whether there is leakage at each sealing surface and connecting surface.
3.7 Flow characteristic test is only used as type test with a duration of not less than 30s. There is no general requirement for the test equipment, but the water pressure near the faucet must be stable.
3.7.1 Ordinary faucet of bathtub: open the hand wheel to the maximum and measure the flow.
3.7.2 Mixed faucet of bathtub:
3.7.2.1 Connect it to the water source, and measure the flow when opening the cold and hot water hand wheels to the maximum respectively. Take the smaller value as the flow when opening single faucet.
3.7.2.2 Connect it to the water source, and measure the flow when opening both cold and hot water hand wheels to the maximum.
3.7.3 Mixed faucet of bathtub with shower head:
3.7.3.1 Connect it to the water source, close the shower head by distribution valve, and measure the flow when opening the cold and hot water hand wheels to the maximum respectively. Take the smaller value as the flow when opening single outlet of this faucet.
3.7.3.2 Connect it to the water source, close the shower head by distribution valve, and measure the flow when opening both cold and hot water hand wheels to the maximum.
3.7.3.3 Connect it to the water source, close the water outlet by distribution valve, and measure the flow when opening the cold and hot water hand wheels to the maximum respectively. Take the smaller value as the flow when opening single shower head of this faucet.
3.7.3.4 Connect it to the water source, close the water outlet by distribution valve, and measure the flow when opening both cold and hot water hand wheels to the maximum.
4 Inspection rules
GB 2828-81 Sampling procedures and tables for lot-by-lot inspection by attributes (Apply to inspection of successive lots or batches) is adopted as the inspection scheme. See Annex A.
4.1 General inspection level II and double sampling scheme is adopted to inspect the samples according to technical indexes one by one. Based on the quantity of nonconforming products, if one of the inspection results is rejected, the batch is judged as rejected.
4.2 See Table 4 for the inspection items and acceptable quality level.

4.3 The products of rejected batches shall not be submitted for inspection if they are not repaired by the manufacturer.
5 Marking, packaging, transportation and storage
5.1 The products shall be provided with qualification certificate and instructions for installation and use.
5.2 The product packaging surface shall be marked with the product name, specification, quantity, weight, manufacturer name and date of manufacture.
5.3 The product packaging shall ensure that the products are not damaged during normal transportation.
5.4 The product shall be protected from rain and moisture during transportation, and shall be handled with care.
5.5 The product shall be stored in a well-ventilated and dry room, and shall not be stored together with acid, alkali or other corrosive substances.
