This national standard specifies the scope, terminology and definition, structure, size, appearance, weight and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test method, test rules, packaging, mark and quality certificate of the bright steel wire ropes of lifts.
Upon the mutual agreement of the buyer and the seller, and under the preconditions of being compliant to the national safety provisions, the steel wire ropes of other structure, diameters and tensile strength or galvanized ropes can be applied.
This national standard is applicable to toe traction steel wire rope for passenger lift or freight lift, hanging steel wire rope for hydraulic lift, compensating steel wire rope and speed limiter steel wire rope, as well as the steel wire ropes of dumbwaiter lift and the manpower elevator operated in guide rails.
This national standard is inapplicable to the steel wire ropes for elevators used in construction site, elevators used in mining shafts and temporary elevators without permanent guide rails.
Table A.1-A.5 of Annex A specify the diameter, rating, classification, structure and minimum fracture tensile force for the bright steel wire ropes.
