1 Scope
This Standard specifies the general guidance on methods for the determination of Salmonella in feeds.
This Standard is applicable to the determination of Salmonella in feeds and feed additives.

3 Culture media or materials
Except where indicated, reagents shall be of recognized analysis pure grade.
3.1 Water: It shall meet the requirements for Grade 3 water as specified in GB/T 6682.
3.2 Buffered peptone water (BPW): See B.1 of Appendix B.
3.3 Rappaport-Vassiliadis magnesium chloride-malachite green (RV) medium: See B.2 of Appendix B.
3.4 Selenite/cystine (SC) medium: See B.3 of Appendix B.

4.5 Electronic balance: with a sensitivity of 0.1 g.
4.6 Aseptic conical flasks: with a volume of 500 mL, 250 mL; or aseptic homogenizingng bag.
