1 Subject Content and Application Scope
This standard specifies the guidelines for engineering grade noise measurements at the operator's position. The test codes of noise measurements at the operator's position of specific machines shall be formulated based on this standard.
This standard is applicable to the operator's position and other designated positions of machinery and equipment, excluding such transportation tools as vehicles, ships and aircrafts.
This standard is also applicable to the following operator's positions:
a. The position partially or totally enclosed by the machine.
b. Positions in the cab. This cab may be one integral part of the machine or be at a position where is certain distance away from the machine.
