This standard replaces GB/T 14532-2008 Office furniture—Wooden cabinets and shelves. In addition to a number of editorial changes, the following technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 14532-2008:

——product designations are deleted (see 4.2 in 2008 edition);

3 Terms and definitions

4 Classification
4.1 By structural type
Structural types include:
a) cabinets;
b) shelves;
c) Cabinet-shelve composition.
4.2 By intended use
Intended use types include:
a) cabinets and shelves for books;
b) cabinets and shelves for files;
c) cabinets and shelves for periodicals;
d) drawing cabinet;
e) newspaper shelves.
5 Requirements
5.1 Materials
Material requirements shall meet those specified in Table 1.

5.2 Appearance

If a single defect is so significant that affects the quality of the product, it shall be judged as a basic item.
