For the purpose of this document, terms and definitions given in GB/T 3730.2-1996 and GB/T 26989 and the following apply.
3.1
vehicle mass
mV
total mass of the vehicle in operation without driver, passenger or goods, but with the fuel tank filled to at least 90% of the capacity and having accompanied tools and spare wheel(s) (if provided by the vehicle manufacturer as standard outfits)
[Source: GB/T 3730.2-1996, 4.6, modified]
3.2
proven recycling technology
current automobile material recycling technology available for mass production or trial production
3.3
recyclability rate
Rcyc
percentage of the mass of reusable and/or recyclable parts to the kerb mass of the vehicle
3.4
recoverability rate
Rcov
percentage of the mass of reusable and/or recyclable and/or recoverable parts to the kerb mass of the vehicle
4 Symbols
For the purposes of this document, the symbols listed in Table 1 apply.
Table 1 Symbol and description of mass variables
Symbol Description
mP Mass of materials taken into account at the pretreatment step
mD Mass of materials taken into account at the dismantling step
mM Mass of metals taken into account at the metals separation step
mTr Mass of materials taken into account at the non-metallic residue treatment step and which can be considered as recyclable
mTe Mass of materials taken into account at the non-metallic residue treatment step and which can be considered for energy recovery
mV Vehicle mass
All mass units are expressed in kilograms, to the nearest 2 decimal places
5 Requirements for recyclability and recoverability rates of the vehicles
5.1 Recyclability rate requirement for vehicles
The recyclability rate of vehicles in Categories M1 and N1 shall not be less than 85%.
5.2 Recoverability rate requirement for vehicles
The recoverability rate of vehicles in Categories M1 and N1 shall not be less than 95%.
6 Calculation method for recyclability and recoverability rates
6.1 General
6.1.1 The recyclability and recoverability rate shall be calculated based on the vehicle material data collected from the supply chain and proven recycling technology.
6.1.2 Plastic, rubber, and thermoplastic elastomer components shall be marked with the material type on the surface in accordance with the requirements of QC/T 797. Components of other material types shall be marked with the recoverability mark on the exterior surface, or such information about recoverability and relevant technology of the parts shall be described in technical documents such as the dismantling manual of end-of-life vehicles in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 26988, where the dismantling manual of end-of-life vehicles shall be compiled in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 33460.
6.1.3 The calculation of the recyclability and recoverability rates is carried out through the following four steps:
