Feed Materials—Soybean Meal
1 Scope
This standard specifies the relevant terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labelling, packaging, transportation and storage of soybean meal for feed materials.
This standard is applicable to soybean meal for feed materials produced with soybean after oil extraction by prepressing extraction or direct solvent extraction, or with soybean cake after oil extraction, or with soybean germ after oil extraction by expansion extraction.

4.1 Sensory Properties
This product is pale yellow, maple or sorrel and appears as irregular fragment, coarse particle or coarse powder, without fermentation, mould, insect pest, peculiar smell or foreign odor.

5.2 Crude protein
It shall be in accordance with GB/T 6432.
5.3 Crude fiber
It shall be in accordance with GB/T 6434.
5.4 Moisture content
It shall be in accordance with GB/T 6435.
5.5 Crude ash
It shall be in accordance with GB/T 6438.
5.6 Lysine
It shall be in accordance with GB/T 18246.
5.7 Urease activity
It shall be in accordance with GB/T 8622.
5.8 Protein solubility in potassium-hydroxide solution
It shall be in accordance with Annex A.
5.9 Hygienic index
It shall be in accordance with GB 13078.
5.10 Net content
It shall be in accordance with JJF 1070.
6 Inspection Rules
6.1 Batching
Products which are of the same specification and produced continuously with the same batch of materials in the same process on the same date of production are considered as a batch.
6.2 Sampling
It shall be in accordance with GB/T 14699.1.
6.3 Delivery inspection
Sensory properties, moisture content, crude protein and urease activity are included in the delivery inspection items.
6.4 Type inspection
Type inspection shall be carried out in any of the following cases and the inspection items are those specified in this standard:
a) Where materials, process or design changes greatly after formal production;
b) Type inspection is carried out once every half year after formal production;
c) Production is resumed after shutdown for more than 3 months;
d) Where the result of delivery inspection is greatly different from the previous type inspection result;
e) Where the product quality supervision department proposes the requirements for type inspection.
