1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions of milk replacer for calves, specifies the technical requirements and inspection rules as well as packaging, transportation storage and shelf life, and describes corresponding sampling and test methods.
This document is applicable to the production, trade, inspection, certification and use of milk replacer for calves.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 10647 and the following apply,

milk replacer for calves
a uniform mixture prepared according to a certain proportion with dairy products and vegetable protein products as main raw materials, supplemented by necessary feed additives such as amino acids, vitamins and mineral elements, and used for feeding calves and as milk substitutes
Note 1: It is used to feed calves after being blended with boiling water.
Note 2: The milk replacer for calves belongs to calf concentrate supplement.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 Raw material requirements
4.1.1 Dairy products include whole milk, skim milk, concentrated milk protein, whey powder, lactose-free whey powder, casein, etc.; plant protein sources include soybean, wheat, peanut, rice and so on.
4.1.2 Non-protein ammonia substances such as urea shall not be used.
4.1.3 Animal-derived feed products other than milk and dairy products shall not be used.
4.2 Appearance and properties
The product shall be light yellow or light cream powder with consistent color and milk fragrance, without caking, mildew, deterioration or peculiar smell.
4.3 Particle size
The passing rate of the product shall be 100% via 0.42mm analysis sieve and >80% via 0.18mm analysis sieve.
