This standard specifies the 5-Cl-PADAB spectrophotometric method for determination of cobalt content.
This standard is applicable to the determination of cobalt content in carbon steel and alloy steel. Determination range: 0.0050%~0.50%.
2 Principle
After the sample is dissolved with acid, in the solution of pH 7~8, the coordination compound generated by 5-Cl -PADAB and cobalt is acidified with dilute sulfuric acid, and takes on stable aubergine; measure the absorbance.
