本标准规定了在规定的试验条件下，在氧、氮混合气流中，测定刚好维持试样燃烧所需的最低氧浓度的试验方法。本标准适用于评定均质固体材料、层压材料、泡沫材料、软片和薄膜材料等在规定试验条件下的燃烧性能，其结果不能用于评定材料在实际使用条件下着火的危险性。本方法不适用于评定受热后呈高收缩率的材料。
