本标准规定了节流装置中的孔板、喷嘴和文丘里管的结构形式、技术要求以及节流装置的使用方法、安装和工作条件、检验规则和检验方法。同时还给出了计算流量及其有关不确定度等方面的必需资料。本标准适用于取压方式为角接取压、法兰取压、D和D/2取压以及节流件为孔板、喷嘴和文丘里管的节流装置。每一种节流装置只能在规定的使用极限之内。本标准中所规定的节流装置适用下列条件：流体必须是充满圆管和节流装置；流体通过测量段的流动必须是保持亚音速的、稳定的或仅随时间缓慢变化的；流体必须是单相流体或者可认为是单相流体。本标准不适用于管道公称通径小于50mm和公称通径大于1200mm，或者管道雷诺数低于3150的场合。
