Battery management system for electrical energy storage
1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for data acquisition, communication alarm and protection, control, state of energy estimation, balancing, insulation resistance detection, insulation and voltage withstand, electrical adaptability, electromagnetic compatibility, etc., describes the corresponding test methods, and specifies the contents such as classification and coding, normal working environment, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of the battery management system for electrical energy storage (hereinafter referred to as "battery management system”).
This document is applicable to the design, manufacturing, test, detection, operation, maintenance and repair of battery management systems for lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, lead-acid (lead-carbon) batteries, flow batteries and electrolyzed water hydrogen batteries/fuel batteries for electrical energy storage, and serves as a reference for other batteries.

4 Classification and coding
See Figure 1 for classification and coding rules of battery management system.
Key:
1 For electrical energy storage — represented by “EES".
2 Battery type — represented by three letters, where, LIB—lithium-ion battery, SIB—sodium-ion battery, FLB—flow battery, LAB—lead-acid battery, LCB—lead carbon battery, FUB—fuel battery, SDJ—electrolyzed water hydrogen battery.
3 Management level — represented by 1 letter, where, M—battery module, C—battery cluster, S—stack, A—battery array.
4 Maximum acquisition voltage — represented by 4 digits. If the number of digits is not enough, add "0" in front; expressed in "V".
5 Balancing mode — represented by two letters, where, AB—active balancing, PB—passive balancing, AP—both active and passive balancing, NB—no balancing.
