1 Scope
This part of GB/T 34542 specifies the general requirements for the overall design, safety accessories, installation and commissioning, operation management and risk assessment of storage and transportation systems for gaseous hydrogen (hereinafter referred to as the system).
This part is applicable to storage system, transportation system, compression system and filling system for gaseous hydrogen, as well as the combined system with working pressure not higher than 140 MPa and ambient temperature not lower than -40℃ and not higher than 65℃.

4 General requirements
4.1 Basic requirements
4.1.1 The system shall follow the following basic principles:
a) It shall control the storage volume of gaseous hydrogen on the premise of meeting the demands;
b) It shall control the leakage source and fire source;
c) It shall control the personnel in the explosive hazardous area and their dwell time;
d) The system shall not be in a negative pressure state;
e) The nitrogen replacement interfaces shall be provided for the system;
f) The temperature, pressure, flow and other system operating parameters shall be remotely monitored and controlled;
g) Independent safety system shall be installed so that emergency and alarm may be automatically triggered in case of abnormality, fault or malfunction.
4.1.2 The area where the system is used shall be well ventilated and be such that the volume fraction of gaseous hydrogen in the air does not exceed 1%.
4.1.3 The fire hazard level of the system shall be Level A, and the classification of the explosive hazardous area shall meet the requirements of GB 50177, GB 50516 and GB 50058.
4.1.4 The quality of gaseous hydrogen in the system shall meet the requirements of use and requirements of relevant standards.
4.1.5 The design, manufacture, installation and operation units of the system shall establish a sound quality management system and operate it effectively, and the operation unit shall also establish a safety protection management system.
4.1.6 The unit using the system shall formulate emergency rescue plan and conduct accident emergency drills on a regular basis.
