3 Terms, definitions and abbreviations
3.1 Term and definition
For the purposes of this document, the following term and definition apply.
3.1.1
intelligent manufacturing capability
extent to which the enterprises carry out management improvement and comprehensive application with regard to personnel, technology, resource, manufacturing, etc. in order to realize the goal of intelligent manufacturing
3.2 Abbreviations
For the purposes of this document, the following abbreviations apply.
AGV: Automated Guided Vehicle
ESB: Enterprise Service Bus
IT: Information Technology
ODS: Operational Data Store
PLC: Programmable Logic Controller
RFID: Radio Frequency Identification
SDN: Software Defined Network
4 Model composition
The model consists of maturity level, capability element and maturity requirements, where the capability element consists of capability domains which consist of capability sub-domains, as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1 Model composition
5 Maturity level
The maturity level specifies the level that intelligent manufacturing shall reach at different stages. There are five levels of maturity, namely (from low to high): Level I (planning level), Level II (specification level), Level III (integration level), Level IV (optimization level), and Level V (leading level), as shown in Figure 2. The higher maturity level requirements cover the requirements of the lower maturity levels.
Figure 2 Maturity level
Level I (planning level): Enterprises shall start planning for the foundation and conditions of implementing intelligent manufacturing and be able to carry out process management with regard to core business activities (design, production, logistics, sales and service).
Level II (specification level): Enterprises shall transform and regulate the core equipment and core business activities by adopting automation technology and information technology means to realize data sharing of a single business activity.
Level III (integration level): Enterprises shall carry out integration of equipment, systems, etc. to realize data sharing across business activities.
Level IV (optimization level): Enterprises shall conduct data mining with regard to personnel, resource, manufacturing, etc. to form knowledge, models, etc. to realize accurate prediction and optimization of core business activities.
Level V (Leading Level): Enterprises shall continuously drive the optimization and innovation of business activities based on the model to realize industry chain collaboration and derive new manufacturing models and business models.
