1 Scope
This standard specifies the analysis methods for residues of DDVP, mevinphos, monocrotophos, phorate, propetumphos, diazinon, etrimfos, pirimiphos-methyl, parathion-methyl, kitazine, isocarbophos, po-quinalphos, phenthoate, methdathion, phenamiphos, ethion, dimethoate, quinalphos, parathion and fenitrothion in fruits, vegetables and cereals.
This standard is applicable to the residue analysis for such crops as fruits, vegetables and cereals to which twenty pesticide formulations, e.g. DDVP, have been applied.
2 Principle
Organophosphorous sample, while burning in hydrogen-rich flame, in the form of HPO fragments, emits 526 nm-wavelength characteristic lights which are selected through optical filter before being received by photomultiplier tube. They are converted to electric signals which are amplified by current amplifier and then recorded. Compare the peak area or peak height of the sample with that of the standard and quantify.
3 Reagents
3.1 Acetone.
3.2 Dichloromethane.
