This standard is modified in relation to ISO 3583: 1984 Road vehicles - Pressure test connection for compressed-air pneumatic braking equipment (English version).
See Annex A for the main differences between this standard and ISO 3583: 1984.
This standard replaces GB/T 5922-1986 Motor vehicles and towed vehicles - Pressure test connection for compressed-air pneumatic braking equipment.
The following main changes have been made with respect to GB/T 5922-1986:
—— The “Normative references” is added;
—— The standard on anti-corrosion requirements (GB 2423.17-81) is replaced with GB/T 10125-1997;
—— Some technical dimensions have been changed.
Annex A of this standard is informative.
This standard was proposed by the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of SAC/TC 114 the National Technical Committee on Automobiles of Standardization Administration of China.
The previous edition of standard replaced by this standard is as follows:
—— GB/T 5922-1986.
Motor vehicles and towed vehicles -
Pressure test connection for compressed-air pneumatic braking equipment
1 Scope
This standard specifies the main dimensions of connections for checking the response time and pressure value of compressed-air pneumatic braking devices fitted on motor vehicles and towed vehicles.
This standard also specifies the open space that shall surround the pressure test connection and the anti-corrosion requirements.
This standard is applicable to compressed-air pneumatic braking systems.
2 Normative references
The following document contains provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to (excluding any corrigendum), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the latest editions of the standards indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document applies.
GB/T 10125-1997 Corrosion tests in artificial atmospheres - Salt spray tests (eqv ISO 9227: 1990)
3 Dimension and specification
3.1 See Figure 1 for the main dimensions of the pressure test connection.
3.2 Table 1 specifies the dimensional characteristics of the test connection.
Dimensions in millimeters
Notes:
1. The two structures, Type A and Type B, are absolutely interchangeable.
2. Dimensions not specified shall be chosen according to the application, and the connection strength and sealing performance requirements shall be guaranteed.
3. Gasket and dust cover shall be made of aging-resistant materials.

Table 1 Dimensional characteristics of pressure test connection
Type Value of a (valve closed)/mm Opening travel/mm Opening force (under internal pressure of 1MPa)/N
A ≤5 ≥2 20~200
B ≥2 ≥a 20~100
≤5
4 Open space shall be left around the pressure test connection
The pressure test connection shall be easy to connect. During connection, the hose shall not be excessively twisted to prevent the test personnel from being injured when using the test connection.
5 Anti-corrosion requirements
The pressure test connection shall be protected against corrosion, and sprayed continuously for at least 96 h according to the requirements of neutral salt spray test in GB/T 10125-1997, and the base metal shall be free from corrosion.
