1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for drinking water quality and drinking water source quality, the sanitary requirements for drinking water plant, secondary water supply, health and safety products involving drinking water, and water quality inspection methods.
This document is applicable to all kinds of drinking water.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
drinking water
water for human to drink and use
3.2
centralized water supply
water supply type of collecting water centrally from water sources and distributing it to users or public water intake points through water transmission and distribution pipe network
3.3
small centralized water supply
centralized water supply with designed daily supply capacity below 1,000m3 or water supply population below 10,000 persons
3.4
decentralized water supply
water supply type that users take water directly from water sources with no treatment or simple facilities only
3.5
finished water
water about to enter the transmission and distribution pipe network after the drinking water plant completes the treatment process flow
3.6
tap water
water generated by delivering finished water to user's taps through water transmission and distribution pipe network
3.7
regular indices
indices reflecting the basic situation of drinking water quality
3.8
expanded indices
indices reflecting the water quality characteristics of regional drinking water and the water quality situation in a certain period of time or under special circumstances
4 Requirements for drinking water quality
4.1 The drinking water quality shall meet the following basic requirements to ensure the drinking safety of users:
