This document is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.
This document replaces GB/T 6893-2010 Aluminium and aluminium alloys cold drawn (rolled) seamless tubes. In addition to changes in structure and editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 6893-2010:
a) The application scope has been extended to cover “bridge tubes” (see Clause 1 hereof and Clause 1 of 2010 edition);
b) The term "coiled tubes" has been added to the clause "Terms and definitions" (see 3.1);
c) The designations and states of 2017A O, 2017A T3, 2024 T3, 2D12 O, 2D12T4, 2A14 O, 2A14T6, 3003 H12, 3003 H24, 3003 H18, 3A21H12, 3026 O, 3103 O, 5B02 O, 6061 T8, 6082 T4, 6082 T6, 7A09 T6, 7075 T6 have been added; 2017 designation has been deleted; and T4 state of 2024 designation has been deleted (see 4.1 hereof and 3.1.1 of 2010 edition);
d) The quality assurance requirements have been added (see Clause 5).
e) The mechanical properties of new designations and states have been added; the dimension range of mechanical properties limited to "all properties" in the original standard has been changed; and the performance requirements of O-state T42 and T62 tubes have been added (see Table 2 hereof and Table 2 of 2010 edition);
f) The drift expanding performance of 5B02 aeronautical alloy tubes has been added (see 6.4);
g) The compression performance of 1035 aeronautical designation has been added (see 6.5);
h) The flattening performance of O-state 5B02 and 5A02 aeronautical alloy has been added (see 6.6);
i) The bending performance of 5B02 aeronautical alloy has been added (see 6.7);
j) The air tightness requirements for bridge tubes have been added (see 6.8);
k) The subclause "Microstructure” has been modified (see 6.9 hereof and 3.5 of 2010 edition);
l) The requirements for macrostructure of 3A21 aeronautical alloy have been added (see 6.10);
m) The welding performance of bridge tubes have been added (see 6.11);

1 Scope
This document specifies the classification, quality assurance, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage, as well as quality certificates and order (or contract) contents of aluminium and aluminium alloys cold drawn (rolled) tubes.
This document is applicable to the aluminium and aluminium alloys cold drawn (rolled) seamless and bridge tubes [hereinafter referred to as the "tube(s)"].
